Job summary

Sgscare is seeking a Registered Manager for a brand-new 4-bed children’s home in the Doncaster (DN9) area. Lead the opening, registration and ongoing management of the standalone service with strong leadership, structure, and high standards.

Role requires senior leadership within Ofsted-registered settings, with travel to Pontefract head office for interviews and meetings. Attractive salary £54,080 with bonus potential up to £64,280 and On-Call/occupancy incentives.

Qualifications

• Experience in Ofsted-registered children’s homes in a senior leadership role.
• 2–3 years’ senior management experience in children’s residential care.
• Proven track record toward Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes.
• Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Level 5 Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (started or completed).
• Ability to travel to Pontefract head office for interviews and managers’ meetings.
• Within commutable distance of Doncaster (DN9).
• Willingness to declare any previous disciplinaries or failed fit person applications.
• Salary expectations aligned with the advertised package based on experience.

Salary: £54,080 per annum with the potential to earn up to £64,280 through Ofsted and occupancy bonuses
Hours: Full-time, permanent (includes on-call responsibilities)

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced and confident Registered Manager to lead the opening and registration of a brand-new 4-bed children’s home in the Doncaster (DN9) area.

This is a standalone service, so strong leadership, resilience, and the ability to establish a high-performing home with structure, consistency, and clear standards will be essential.

This opportunity would suit either an experienced Registered Manager or a strong Deputy Manager ready to step up, provided they can clearly demonstrate senior leadership experience within children’s residential care.

What’s on Offer

Base Salary: £54,080 per annum
Potential Earnings: Up to £64,280 per annum
Ofsted Bonus: £3,000 for an Outstanding Ofsted report
Occupancy Bonus: £600 per month
Annual Leave: 25 days plus 8 statutory holidays
On-Call Payments: £25 weekday / £35 weekend

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working within Ofsted-registered children’s residential homes in a senior leadership capacity
• A minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a senior management role within children’s residential care
• A proven track record of contributing towards Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes
• If applying as a Deputy Manager, clear evidence of leadership contribution under a Registered Manager achieving Good or Outstanding
• A Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
• Level 5 Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (completed or already started)
• Strong leadership and management capability suited to a standalone home environment
• The ability to travel to the Pontefract head office for interviews and managers’ meetings
• Be within a commutable distance of the Doncaster (DN9) area
• Willingness to declare any previous disciplinaries or failed fit person applications
• Salary expectations aligned with the advertised package based on experience and knowledge

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience opening and registering a brand-new children’s home
• Experience establishing teams, systems, and operational structure from day one
