Job summary

Priority Recruitment Services Ltd in Walsall, West Midlands, is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a 4-bedroom children's residential home. The role focuses on safeguarding, regulatory compliance, and delivering outstanding outcomes for young people aged 8–17.

You will develop a dedicated team, ensure regulatory compliance and create a therapeutic environment where children can feel safe and achieve their potential.

Qualifications

• Management of a children's residential home.
• Experience in children's residential care and senior leadership.
• Level 3 qualification in Children's and Young People's Workforce.
• QCF Level 5 Leadership and Management or willingness to pursue it.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and knowledge of Homes Regulations.
• Familiar with Ofsted inspections and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the residential home.
• Lead, motivate and supervise residential care staff.
• Maintain safeguarding and child protection standards.
• Ensure Ofsted readiness and regulatory inspections.
• Oversee care plans and risk assessments.

Job Type: Full-Time – Permanent

Shift and Schedule: 37.5 hours per week

Setting: 4-bedroom children's residential home

Client Group: Children and young people aged 8–17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD)

This is a senior leadership position responsible for managing a children's residential home, ensuring outstanding standards of care, safeguarding and operational performance.

You will play a key role in developing a dedicated team, maintaining regulatory compliance and creating a positive, therapeutic environment where children and young people can feel safe and achieve their potential.

Salary & Benefits:

• - £53,045–£63,545 per annum, depending on experience
• - Permanent full-time position

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• - Managing the daily operations of the residential home
• - Leading, motivating and supervising residential care staff
• - Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and child protection
• - Ensuring compliance with Ofsted requirements and preparing for inspections
• - Overseeing care plans, risk assessments and individual support strategies
• - Supporting recruitment, induction, supervision and staff development
• - Managing resources and supporting effective budget control
• - Working closely with social workers, local authorities and external professionals
• - Promoting a positive and supportive team culture
• - Ensuring the home remains safe, welcoming and well-maintained

Successful Candidate:

• - Previous experience within children's residential care
• - Experience in a management or senior leadership role
• - Level 3 qualification in Children's and Young People's Workforce or equivalent
• - QCF Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification, or willingness to work towards it
• - Strong knowledge of safeguarding and Children's Homes Regulations
• - Understanding of Ofsted inspections and quality standards
• - Proven leadership and staff development skills
• - Excellent communication, organisational and decision-making abilities
• - Calm, resilient and committed to delivering positive outcomes for young people
