Job summary

Agincare is seeking a Supported Living Registered Manager to lead services in Taunton, Chard and Frome. You will head the team to deliver safe, person-centred care in line with CQC regulations and quality targets.

You will manage staff induction, audits, risk assessments, and liaise with health professionals, social workers and families. A QCF level 4 management qualification (or willingness to work towards) and prior learning disability sector experience are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 months right to work in the UK.
  • Management qualification at QCF level 4 or equivalent or willingness to work towards this qualification.
  • QCF level 4 or higher in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
  • Previous care experience within the Learning Disability sector.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure residents understand care and treatment choices, promoting dignity and individuality.
  • Review existing care provisions to meet residents' physical and mental health needs and coordinate with health professionals.
  • Carry out auditing to assess service quality and take corrective action as needed.
  • Implement effective risk assessments to protect residents and home safety.
  • Induct new staff and ensure ongoing training, supervision and support.
  • Perform disciplinary or formative actions when required.
  • Ensure staffing levels cover resident needs and maintain contingency plans.
  • Investigate complaints related to safeguarding, abuse or service delivery and ensure proper notifications.
  • Adhere to CQC regulations and maintain high standards across services.

Essential Skills: A minimum of 12 months on your right to work in the UK Management qualification at QCF level 4 or equivalent or a willingness to work towards this qualification QCF level 4 or higher in Health & Social Care or equivalent Previous care experience within the Learning Disability sector.

Demonstrable knowledge of the care sector including the running of supported living homes and regulatory framework Excellent leadership and management skills Experience of working with vulnerable client groups Desirable Skills: Previous CQC registration in a residential service preferable A day in the life of a Registered Manager As the Registered Manager, you will head the team to provide a safe, caring, responsive and effective service for the residents in your care home, ensuring delivery of the highest possible care standards fully compliant with all CQC statutory regulations, whilst making sure you achieve your operational and quality assurance KPI's.

You will be based from our office in Castle street, Taunton with regular visits to services in Taunton, Frome and Chard.

Your day to day responsibilities therefore will include: Ensuring all your residents understand the care and treatment choices that are available to them and that the care is provided in a way that promotes choice, dignity and individuality Reviewing existing care provision to ensure it meets the current physical and mental health needs of your residents and in turn liaising with the residents, internal staff, health professionals, social workers and other interested parties to adapt existing plans to meet current needs Ensuring that auditing is carried out to fully understand that quality of the service being provided and taking quick reparative action if any concerns are raised Ensuring that effective risk assessments are in place to protect the needs of your residents and the overall safety of your home.

Inducting new staff, and ensuring that existing staff are regularly trained, motivated, supervised and supported.

Carrying out any potential disciplinary or formative action against team members as and when required.

Effectively staffing your home to ensure that personnel can cover the needs of your residents and having effective contingency plans in case of unexpected absence or events.

Investigating any complaints surrounding safeguarding, abuse, or delivery of your services and ensuring notifications and duty of candour are sent to the right parties.
