Job description

Registered Manager

This is not just a Registered Manager role. This is your opportunity to run a successful nursing home as if it were your own business.

You will take ownership of standards, performance, occupancy and team culture. You will have the autonomy to lead properly, with the support of an established provider behind you.

The priority is clear: safe, high-quality care for residents, a stable and capable team, strong compliance and a home that performs well commercially.

The role. As Registered Manager, you will lead all aspects of the home’s operation. You will be visible in the service, decisive in your leadership and committed to getting the best from your team.

You will be responsible for:
  • Maintaining regulatory compliance and delivering a high-quality service.
  • Leading, coaching and retaining a strong care and clinical team.
  • Ensuring safe staffing, effective rota management and robust clinical governance.
  • Managing occupancy, referrals, budgets and operational performance.
  • Building positive relationships with residents, families, professionals and the local community.
  • Identifying issues early and taking practical action to improve standards.
  • Creating a respectful, accountable and positive workplace culture.
About you.

You will be an experienced Registered Manager with a strong background in nursing or elderly care. You will understand the balance between outstanding resident care and effective commercial management.

You will bring:
  • Previous Registered Manager experience within a nursing home or elderly care setting.
  • A good understanding of CQC requirements, safeguarding, medication management and governance.
  • Experience of improving quality, compliance, occupancy or team performance.
  • A hands-on leadership style and the confidence to hold people to account.
  • Strong communication skills with residents, relatives, colleagues and external professionals.
  • Commercial awareness, including budgets, staffing costs and occupancy.
  • A genuine commitment to delivering dignified, person-centred care.
  • An active NMC PIN would be beneficial, but is not essential for the right experienced care home leader.
What is on offer.
  • Salary of £60,000 to £65,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
  • Genuine autonomy and responsibility to lead the home.
  • Support from an established senior management team.
  • The opportunity to make a visible difference to residents, relatives and colleagues.
  • A role where your leadership directly shapes the standards, reputation and success of the service.
