Job description

Cucumber Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of one of the UK's leading specialist care providers for an experienced Registered Manager to lead a well-established residential service in Milton Keynes.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected organisation that genuinely puts the people it supports at the heart of everything it does. You'll be leading a small, community-based residential service that already has strong foundations, an experienced team and long-standing residents, giving you the opportunity to focus on leadership, quality and continuous improvement.

If you're an experienced Registered Manager looking for your next challenge, or an ambitious Deputy Manager ready to step into your first registered position, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Service

The service is a registered nine-bed residential home currently supporting eight adults with complex needs.

The people supported have lived within the service for many years, creating a settled, welcoming environment where meaningful relationships have been built with staff and the local community.

You'll be joining a service that benefits from:

  • A stable and experienced staff team.
  • An established Team Leader with approximately 15 years’ service.
  • Long-term placements providing consistency for both the people supported and the staff team.
  • A positive culture focused on dignity, independence and person-centred support.
  • Strong relationships with families, healthcare professionals and commissioners.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys developing people, maintaining high standards and creating positive outcomes.

The Role

As Registered Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall leadership, performance and day-to-day management of the service.

Working closely with your Regional Manager, you'll ensure the home continues to provide safe, effective and person-centred care whilst maintaining full regulatory compliance and supporting the continued development of your team.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where visibility, approachability and leading by example are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide inspirational leadership to an experienced residential care team.
  • Maintain and further develop the positive culture already established within the service.
  • Deliver consistently high standards of person-centred care and support.
  • Ensure full compliance with CQC regulations and all relevant legislation.
  • Support and develop staff through supervision, coaching, training and performance management.
  • Lead recruitment, induction and retention of high-quality staff.
  • Build strong relationships with families, commissioners and external professionals.
  • Oversee safeguarding, quality assurance, audits and governance processes.
  • Manage service performance, occupancy, staffing and budgets.
  • Promote independence, community involvement and positive outcomes for every person supported.
  • Drive continuous improvement and maintain excellent quality standards throughout the service.
