Job summary

Thendon Resourcing Limited is recruiting for a Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential home in Staffordshire. The role focuses on stable, nurturing care and strong staff support to enable positive outcomes for young people.

You will oversee day-to-day operations, supervise staff, and drive safeguarding, training, and recruitment. A background in Ofsted-regulated provision is preferred, with progression opportunities within the group.

Qualifications

• Must have at least two years' management experience within the last five years in children's residential care.
• Ideally an Ofsted Registered Manager, or ready to progress to registration.
• NVQ Level 4 or Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent.
• Demonstrates genuine passion for supporting traumatized/at-risk young people.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operation of the home in line with legislation and the Statement of Purpose.
• Support staff to achieve high standards of care for the young people.
• Assist with ongoing assessment and casework monitoring.
• Lead recruitment of staff within the home.
• Contribute to training and development programmes.
• Coordinate casework, monitor performance standards, and ensure safeguarding.
• Collaborate with other managers to ensure cohesive teamwork and participate in the on-call system.

Registered Manager - Children's Residential Home

We're recruiting for a Children's Home Manager to lead a warm, experienced and locally led children's residential home in Staffordshire. This is a place where relationships come first, where children are truly known, and where staff are supported to build meaningful, long-term change in young people's lives.

About the Organisation

This is a small, independent and locally run provider with strong roots in children's residential care. The leadership team has over 20 years' experience in delivering high quality children's homes, supported by robust and capable Responsible Individuals who are actively involved in ensuring consistent standards across the service.

The focus here is simple: create stable, nurturing homes where children feel safe, valued and able to thrive.

The organisation is also growing, but deliberately and thoughtfully, with future expansion planned within the local area. Therefore, progression and development opportunities may arise locally within the organisation.

Responsibilities

• The day-to-day operation of the home, ensuring it is led in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and the Statement of Purpose.
• Supporting staff to achieve the highest standards of care for the young people.
• Assisting with and supervising the continual assessment of young people.
• Being involved in the recruitment of all staff within the home.
• Contributing to the comprehensive training and development programme.
• Coordinating and monitoring casework and administration, and evaluating standards of performance.
• Being responsible for safeguarding and protecting individual rights, ensuring the welfare of the young people at all times.
• Working with other managers to ensure that all staff work together effectively in meeting the emotional and physical needs of the young people.
• Taking part in the on-call system.

What we're looking for

• It is essential that you have at least two years' management experience within the last five years in children's residential care.
• Ideally, you'll have been an Ofsted Registered Manager before. However, we're also happy to consider Home Managers who haven't yet been through the registration process, or Deputy Managers who can demonstrate they are ready to take the next step in their career.
• Hold an NVQ Level 4 or Level 5 Diploma (QCF) in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People), or an equivalent qualification.
• Most importantly, you can demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting young people who have experienced trauma and adversity to achieve positive outcomes and reach their full potential.
