Job summary

Walsingham Support is seeking a Registered Area Manager Supported Living in Hemel Hempstead to provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple services. You will lead service managers and care staff to deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred support while maintaining regulatory compliance and financial sustainability.

You will oversee services in Rickmansworth, Potters Bar and St Albans, driving continuous quality improvement, strong stakeholder relationships, and staff

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and support a team of service managers and care staff to deliver outstanding care services.
  • Oversee Supported Living Managers across multiple sites (Rickmansworth, Potters Bar, St Albans).
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements (CQC standards).
  • Monitor and improve service quality via audits and performance reviews.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance service delivery and meet business objectives.
  • Foster strong relationships with service users, families, and stakeholders.
  • Manage budgets to ensure financial sustainability and efficiency.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and development opportunities for staff.

Job Description Registered Area Manager Supported Living :

The role of an Registered Area Manager Supported Living is to provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple services, ensuring people receive safe, high-quality, person-centred support while services remain compliant, financially sustainable, and well-led.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Registered Area Manager Supported Living to lead specialist Learning Disability services, primarily supporting adults with Autism and learning disabilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the overall performance of the services within their area.

This is a pivotal leadership role requiring resilience, compassion, and confidence.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring safe, high quality, person-centred support, while guiding teams through complex and sometimes challenging situations.

This role would suit someone who:

Key Responsibilities Registered Area Manager Supported Living :

Lead, manage, and support a team of service managers and care staff to deliver outstanding care services.

This role will be overseeing Supported Living Managers who manage the day to day running of services within Rickmansworth, Potters Bar and St Albans

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements, including CQC standards.
  • Monitor and improve service quality through regular audits and performance reviews.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance service delivery and achieve business objectives.
  • Foster positive relationships with service users, their families, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage budgets effectively to ensure financial sustainability and efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and development within the region.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and development opportunities for staff.
  • Provide visible, hands‑on leadership during incidents and periods of heightened behaviour, supporting staff to respond safely and effectively.
  • Coach and develop teams in positive behaviour support approaches, ensuring consistency and confidence in practice.
  • Promote a calm, reflective culture where staff feel supported to manage emotionally demanding situations.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven experience in a senior management role within the social care sector.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and legislative requirements in social care.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrate experience supporting individuals with autism and behaviours that challenge.
  • Passion for developing others and building confident, capable teams.
  • Resilient and reflective leader who can support others through challenge while maintaining high standards of care.

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
