Job summary

Walsingham Support is hiring a part-time Floating Support Worker to help adults with learning disabilities live life their way. You’ll work 18 hours weekly at £12.71 per hour and receive full training and ongoing support from a national charity that reinvests in care.

No prior care experience is required; we value kindness, patience and a willingness to learn. Flexible hours and a meaningful role are offered by a supportive team.

Qualifications

NB: This role is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship under current UK Home Office rules, as it does not meet the required salary or skill level criteria.

Whilst we encourage applications to other roles, candidates who already have a valid right to work in the UK through other immigration routes or permissions must meet the minimum eligibility of having at least two years remaining on your current visa.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Our first step once you have applied, is a brief values evaluation. It highlights the qualities that matter in our work and helps both of us see whether the role is a good fit.

Specific service details (number of people we support, conditions, etc)

  • The Floating Support service supports 8 people in the community and their own homes
  • We support people with learning disabilities
  • We support people with mental health
  • We support people with physical disabilities

The three things we would like an applicant to know about the role before applying...

  • This is a community role and we follow the lead of the people that we support, we could be going swimming, walking, personal care, shopping, beauty appointments, dog walking, theme parks, football, museums, cinemas, etc
  • We visit people in their homes
  • We pick up from college and take them out afterwards for some activities, the list is not exhaustive.

The hours we are looking for are:

  • Mondays 3.30pm-6pm and then 6.15-8.15pm
  • Tuesdays 10.30-12.30pm
  • Wednesday 11-2pm and 3.30-6pm
  • Thursday 11-2pm

Other Information

It is essential that you have a manual driving licence for this role.
