Job summary

St George's Nursery is seeking an experienced Nursery Manager to lead and support our East Midlands settings, ensuring outstanding care and safeguarding standards. You will mentor staff, drive EYFS compliance, and contribute to Ofsted readiness.

The role is fixed-term, full-time (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday), with a salary up to £40,000 and benefits designed to reward leadership and professional growth across our group.

Qualifications

  • Experience as Nursery Manager or Deputy Manager.
  • Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 5 preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted expectations.
  • Willingness to travel across the East Midlands.

Responsibilities

  • Lead nursery settings in the absence of Nursery Managers across the group.
  • Support teams to maintain outstanding care, safeguarding and EYFS standards.
  • Assist with Ofsted readiness, audits, recruitment and staff development.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families and nursery teams.
  • Support operational improvements and maintain consistency across settings.
  • Act as a role model for St George’s values, culture and high-quality practice.

Contract: Fixed-term

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Salary: up to £40,000 per year.

Your Role

What We’re Looking For:
  • You are an experienced Nursery Manager or strong Deputy Manager ready to progress.
  • Hold a minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 5 preferred)
  • Have excellent knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted expectations.
  • Are adaptable, organised, and confident working across multiple settings
  • Have strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and are happy to travel across the East Midlands.
