Job summary

National Gas is seeking an Associate Buyer to support regional procurement and contract management, helping secure goods and services for projects and operations. The role is hybrid, with an office presence in the East region and a focus on delivering value across spend categories.

You will work with internal stakeholders and suppliers, driving market research, tendering, and contract award activities while monitoring performance and renewals.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting sourcing, procurement, or contract management activities.
• Ability to analyse data and turn findings into clear recommendations.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of value-for-money principles.
• Experience working with suppliers and internal stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Support sourcing projects across a range of regional spend categories.
• Deliver end-to-end tender processes, from supplier identification through to contract award.
• Analyse spend data and market information to identify opportunities and inform recommendations.
• Prepare and issue tender documentation, including requests for proposals and sourcing packs.
• Monitor supplier performance, contract commitments, and renewal requirements.
• Build positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Produce reports and recommendations that support commercial decision-making.
