Job summary

National Gas is seeking an Associate Buyer to support regional procurement and contract management, helping secure goods and services for projects and operations. The role is hybrid, with an office presence in the East region and a focus on delivering value across spend categories.

You will work with internal stakeholders and suppliers, driving market research, tendering, and contract award activities while monitoring performance and renewals.

Responsibilities

• Support sourcing projects across a range of regional spend categories.
• Deliver end-to-end tender processes, from supplier identification through to contract award.
• Analyse spend data and market information to identify opportunities and inform recommendations.
• Prepare and issue tender documentation, including requests for proposals and sourcing packs.
• Monitor supplier performance, contract commitments, and renewal requirements.
• Build positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Produce reports and recommendations that support commercial decision-making.

About the role

Help shape sourcing decisions that deliver value across National Gas.

As an Associate Buyer, you'll support regional procurement and contract management activity, helping secure the goods and services needed to keep projects and operations moving.

• Ability to manage multiple activities and priorities simultaneously
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience managing tender or quotation processes
• Knowledge of supplier performance or contract management activities
• Exposure to utilities, infrastructure, engineering, construction, or regulated industries
• Understanding of procurement processes and commercial governance
• Experience using procurement, contract management, or ERP systems
• Understanding of commercial risk and compliance
