Job summary

AXA is seeking a Motor Trade Development Underwriter for the Regions of Southampton or Birmingham, offering a hybrid model with 60% field activity. Lead underwriting for Mid-Market and Mid-Corporate risks, develop broker relationships, and drive profitable growth while traveling within the region.

A tool of trade car or cash allowance is provided. You will collaborate with Trading Underwriters, manage large cases, and maintain pipeline quality.

Qualifications

Expert Motor Trade technical underwriting knowledge in Southampton or Birmingham.
Proven track record securing and retaining large, complex mid-market business.
Experience in pipeline management and sales alongside underwriting.
Strong relationships with brokers and clients to generate profitable growth.

Responsibilities

Present propositions for larger Mid-Market and Mid-Corporate risks.
Negotiate coverage, wordings and pricing with Trading Underwriters.
Develop a robust pipeline of growth opportunities via client and broker relationships.
Lead the large case management process for new business.
Build broker relationships regionally to source and place profitable business.
Underwrite profitable new and existing business per AXA controls; act as referral point in branch.
Maintain a distribution strategy and broker communications to hit financial KPIs.
Monitor region book performance (COR, Rate, Retention).
