Position Summary / Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Managing Director UK & EMEA (Silversea Cruises), this role provides leadership in Agency Partners/Trade Partners (“Trade”) and Consumer Sales to meet targets for revenue, profitability, segment growth, and industry leadership. The position also guides sales & administration for full ship charters, incentive groups, and individual incentive travel, working closely with other functional leaders. It holds overall responsibility for the region and is a key member of the Silversea leadership team.
The Regional Managing Director, UK & Ireland, is responsible for developing and executing the Trade business strategy within the existing policies and budget, directly accountable for revenue and profitability in the UK/IR. This includes managing all Trade/Consumer sales activities, pipeline forecasting, regional strategy, target-setting, and team management. The role is growth-oriented, requiring proactive efforts to increase revenue streams and develop new relationships across multiple sales channels.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop a competitive Trade business strategy to enhance market share and forge preferred customer partnerships.
- Advocate for industry, company, and key channel advancements.
- Implement and recommend growth opportunities within Silversea’s Sales strategy, managing tactics to penetrate new segments and meet revenue targets.
- Lead the Trade team, set goals, monitor progress, and oversee performance and talent management.
- Achieve top-line and bottom-line sales results, including growth and market share improvements.
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Direct to meet objectives.
- Analyze current and future market conditions, customer needs, and product development.
- Maximize charter and incentive group occupancy, rates, and yields with the C&I team in Miami.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction through timely and efficient service.
- Empower employees with resources, training, and accountability to drive performance.
- Build strong brand awareness and develop superior relationships.
- Support sales functions across all channels.
- Represent the company as a spokesperson at trade shows and conferences, seeking profile opportunities.
- Report Trade activity regularly to the CEO.
- Coordinate with internal departments such as Revenue Management, Hotel Operations, Finance, and Marketing.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and provide feedback to leadership.
- Manage trade agency activities and agency contract implementations in respective territories.
- Foster a collaborative team spirit between Trade and Direct functions.
Skills and Experience
- Degree level education; MBA is desirable.
- Travel industry experience, with strong knowledge of the UK & Ireland market.
- Proven leadership in a competitive environment.
