Regional Maintenance Operative – Multi‑Trade & Compliance

Job summary

Jobtrain is seeking a Maintenance Operative to support multiple services across the region. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance to keep buildings safe, compliant and comfortable for the people we support.

The role requires a Full UK Driving Licence, will involve travelling between sites, and occasionally overnight stays. You will work independently with CAFM systems and deliver tasks within set SLAs.

Qualifications

• Experience as Maintenance Operative/Handyperson, ideally multi-site.
• General multi-trade skills including plumbing, joinery, basic electrical tasks.
• Strong understanding of compliance, Health & Safety, and safe working practices.
• Confidence using IT systems (MS Office, CAFM or similar).
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities; can work under pressure.
• Full UK Driving Licence essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks (plumbing, joinery, decoration, minor electrical work).
• Perform fire safety, legionella and compliance checks to meet legal standards.
• Provide excellent customer service to Service and Operations Managers regionally.
• Log and update tasks using the CAFM system and close completed work.
• Manage workload independently and meet SLA targets.
• Ensure van stock, materials and equipment are well managed and cost-effective.
• Travel between services with occasional overnight stays.
