Job Opportunity: Regional Maintenance Manager - Sussex

Location: Sussex - Driving licence essential due to site visits

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: Competitive pay and benefits, including £400/month car allowance and up to 10% bonus

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Regional Maintenance Manager to oversee Sussex-based Wastewater Asset Maintenance teams. You will ensure assets are available for use as designed, implementing corporate maintenance strategies to meet Wastewater, Financial, and Customer performance objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Build and implement an improvement plan focusing on planned programmes of work and reactive capital maintenance, managing expenditure and benefits.
2. Lead a motivated team, managing approximately 8 direct and 80 indirect reports, with a budget of £2-15m Opex and Capex.
3. Ensure asset availability and MTTR targets within a highly regulated environment, complying with LOLER & PUWER standards.
4. Manage safety, health, and wellbeing, fostering a zero-compromise safety culture.
5. Coordinate with Asset Management for asset improvement plans.
6. Drive contractor and service provider performance.
7. Deliver excellent customer service within the region.
8. Engage and lead the workforce aligned with Southern Water’s values and behaviors.
9. Represent Southern Water externally, including attending stakeholder meetings and media interviews as needed.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will have significant experience in Utility, Maintenance, or Operations environments, with a Mechanical or Electrical background preferred. Strong leadership, financial acumen, and experience managing large budgets are essential.
