About the Company

A long-established Mechanical and Electrical Contractor based in Warwick is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Manager. Operating for 45 years, the company works on multimillion-pound projects across the West Midlands, partnering with top-tier Main Contractors. This role is key to supporting the Major Projects team post-contract, while also managing and expanding the Small Works and Maintenance division, working alongside the existing Electrical Small Works Manager.

The Role

Reporting to the Mechanical Director, this is an exciting opportunity to shape and grow a relatively new division.

You will oversee defect repairs following project completion, manage existing planned maintenance contracts, and help drive the development of new business opportunities. Currently, the team includes one direct mechanical engineer supported by subcontractors, with plans to expand.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and allocate resources, including labour, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules.
  • Manage mechanical defect repairs to resolution.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure work quality, compliance, and identify maintenance needs.
  • Supervise maintenance staff, promoting a culture of safe working practices.
  • Prepare costings for follow-on, extra, or remedial works.
  • Schedule minor and major repairs in coordination with Clients.
  • Maintain regular communication with Clients, discussing maintenance concerns and requirements.
  • Develop and manage maintenance budgets.
  • Monitor and control inventory.
  • Coordinate specialist subcontractor activities.
  • Raise purchase orders, invoices, and manage administrative processes, including logging defects.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, actively securing new contracts.
  • Manage selected Mechanical Small Works projects alongside the Electrical Small Works team, including site visits, scope reviews, quotations, and project management through to completion.
Experience and Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within the mechanical construction or maintenance industry.
  • Strong ability to estimate, quote, and manage works from initial enquiry to final invoice.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Excellent customer-facing skills with a proactive and organised approach to work.
  • Experienced in supervising staff and subcontractors.
  • Ideally suited to individuals with a strong building services background or those transitioning from an installation role into an office-based, client-focused role.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Recognised HVAC qualifications and/or completion of a Mechanical Apprenticeship.
  • Relevant CSCS Skilled Worker Card.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confident liaising with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive decision-maker with strong organisational abilities.
  • Positive, friendly, and professional attitude.
Package
  • Competitive salary of £40,000 - £60,000 depending on experience.
  • 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays.
  • Westfield Health Cash Plan and NEST pension scheme.
  • Company laptop, PPE, and corporate clothing provided.
  • Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (1-hour lunch break).
