Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Project Manager to lead a portfolio of Civil Engineering projects within the South West 5-year capital programme. Based in the Bristol or Exeter offices, you will oversee contractors, governance, QA, H&S, and technical compliance across the supply chain.

Responsibilities include programme management, financial/risk reporting, stakeholder communications, and driving improvements in portfolio delivery while meeting regulatory and contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in relevant engineering discipline.
• Proven portfolio and project management experience.
• Experience with NEC4 forms of contract.
• Strong stakeholder management and knowledge of legislation and standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver portfolio management and programme governance across the regional capital programme.
• Oversee external contractors and consultants to ensure quality and compliance.
• Report on delivery performance and manage risks and budgets.
• Develop project business cases and drive improvements in portfolio delivery.
• Engage stakeholders and maintain effective communications with communities and operators.
