Regional HSEQ Advisor Health, Safety, Environment Advisor

RPS is seeking a Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Advisor to support the Head of HSEQ in implementing a standardized Integrated Management System (IMS) covering Health & Safety, Environment, and Quality in the Water Consultancy Business. The role involves providing support across South England and Wales regions.

About The Team

The RPS Asset, Surveying, and Inspection (AS&I) team offers services to the UK Water Industry, focusing on Water Networks, Drainage, Surveying, Leakage Consultancy, Water Resources, and Efficiency. The team analyzes complex data to provide pragmatic solutions, such as reducing water leakage and preventing flooding and pollution.

The HSEQ team promotes a safe and healthy work environment, integrating safety as a core function to develop and improve working conditions and reduce injuries.

About You

As a key member of the HSEQ team, your role as HSEQ Advisor involves supporting contracts by ensuring compliance with Safety, Quality, and Environmental management systems, recognizing hazards, minimizing risks, and maintaining high standards.

Your Responsibilities
  • Support the Head of HSEQ in ensuring IMS compliance with UK legislation.
  • Review audits, update trackers, and collate data for continual improvement.
  • Monitor incidents and investigations, ensuring remedial actions are completed.
  • Review risk assessments with operational teams to identify hazards and implement measures.
  • Support new contracts, bids, and existing contracts in Wales and South England.
  • Develop weekly and monthly reports across UK operations.
  • Conduct contractor onboarding and provide CDM project updates as needed.
  • Promote the “BEST” behavioral safety program and report on its effectiveness.
  • Undertake additional activities as required.
Skills, Knowledge, And Experience
  • Experience in performing audits, identifying improvements, and monitoring corrective actions.
  • Practical knowledge of The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
  • Experience with RIDDOR reporting, investigation writing, and presentation skills.
Qualifications
  • NEBOSH Certificate or higher.
  • Completed an accredited ISO Auditor training course.
  • Full clean UK driving license.
