We are hiring a Regional HR Manager at Canonical to support our APAC region.

With 1,+ colleagues across 75 countries, we require an HR function that thinks and acts globally. We seek a regional lead reporting to our Global Head of HR to help build our company amid continued growth. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and create the HR function for the future. You will lead the APAC HR team to provide precise, compliant, and scalable HR operations, advise on HR issues across the employee lifecycle, and partner with senior regional leadership. An analytical mindset, attention to detail, and data interpretation skills are essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and scaling Canonical’s regional HR team (1-4 direct reports)
  • Delivering accurate and compliant HR operations promptly
  • Collaborating with Talent Science and Workplace Engineering teams to create integrated HR processes
  • Managing talent development, succession planning, performance assessments, onboarding, culture, and engagement initiatives
  • Partnering with senior managers on performance management, organizational design, employee engagement, rewards, and workforce planning
  • Advising managers on employee relations issues across countries
  • Supporting training and development programs
  • Building trusted regional business partnerships
  • Driving diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
  • Designing policies and delivering global HR projects
  • Representing Canonical’s HR practices at events

Candidate profile:

  • Strong academic background from high school and university
  • Experience leading HR initiatives across regions in a tech company
  • Proven business partnering with senior stakeholders
  • Hands-on involvement in daily HR routines
  • Experience working in a remote-first organization
  • Data-driven decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of HR practices and employment law in APAC
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Self-motivated, organized, accurate, confident, authentic, results-oriented, open-minded, enthusiastic, energetic
  • Willing to travel up to 4 times annually

Nice-to-have skills:

  • Experience with immigration policies and mobility processes
  • HR professional qualification (CIPD/SHRM or equivalent)
