Job summary

Barchester Healthcare in Reading is seeking an Operational Trainer to deliver induction and development training across several homes and independent hospitals within a regional area, including Wokingham, Reading and Bracknell. This home‑based role involves travel to assigned sites to coach staff and monitor progress, ensuring care delivery remains person-centred and compassionate.

You will plan training calendars, keep training files up to date and work with Home Managers to implement

Qualifications

• C&G 7300 (or equivalent) required.
• Diploma level 3 in Health & Social Care or experience in social care sector.
• Knowledge of legislative requirements in the care sector essential.
• Minimum 2 years training experience.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver induction and development training aligned with Barchester objectives and training metrics.
• Provide practical, hands-on training across a variety of subjects.
• Plan and publish training calendars.
• Maintain up-to-date employee training files.
• Arrange induction paperwork and assign a buddy for new staff.
• Maintain regular contact with new team members, coaching and supporting where appropriate.
• Attend external meetings and conferences when required.
• Promote learning and development opportunities offered by Barchester.
• Collaborate with Home Managers to implement individual personal development plans.

Education

C&G 7300 (or equivalent)
