Job summary

J Murphy & Sons seeks a Facilities Manager to lead the facilities function across Murphy Northern geographies, including Wigan, Leeds and Ollerton, ensuring compliant, well-maintained offices. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will manage budgets, oversee M&E systems, contractor performance and safety compliance, while driving energy efficiency and service improvements.

Qualifications

• Suitable qualifications in FM field
• Experience managing hard and soft FM services with good knowledge of relevant codes of practice and statutory maintenance schedules (e.g. SFG20 and CIBSE standards)
• Membership of appropriate body preferred
• Strong knowledge of relevant H&S legislation
• Understanding of M&E systems to refer issues to a specialist, with the ability to interrogate reports
• Project management, contractor management and CDM knowledge desirable
• Ability to use CAFM systems to track jobs and provide reports
• Experience of setting and managing budgets preferred
• Ability to assess and implement “state of the art” FM systems where they can help and improve Murphy
• Experience in working in a “hot-desk” or “Agile” working environment and have detailed knowledge of the roll out of these types of working practices.
• Willing to travel to sites across Murphy Northern geographies, must be able to drive

Responsibilities

• Manage facilities across sites to deliver high service levels
• Ensure offices are legally compliant and logbooks are maintained
• Oversee M&E systems, HVAC, lifts and water systems for safe operations
• Manage planned and reactive asset maintenance in line with lifecycles
• Oversee outsourced contracts for cleaning, security, maintenance and catering
• Provide input on procurement, contracts and tendering for FM
• Conduct compliance audits and oversee audits from external bodies
• Produce business cases for projects to improve environments
• Drive energy efficiency and utility management across offices
• Maintain business continuity plans and respond to FM incidents
• Support policy development and reporting on FM performance
