Job summary

Itec Skills and Employment is seeking a Regional Counsellor to deliver one-to-one and group counselling across Bridgend, Pontypridd and Blackwood. You will build partnerships with external organisations, signpost clients, and run wellbeing workshops to support progression.

The role requires a recognised counselling qualification, experience with varied client groups, and a commitment to ethical practice under BACP codes. Fluency in Welsh and a valid driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

• A recognised diploma or degree in Counselling.
• Experience of working with young people and adults in a counselling setting.
• A member of the BACP or equivalent.
• To be able to work using an integrated approach.
• Knowledge and understanding of the BACP or BABCP Code of Ethics.
• Knowledge of CORE or equivalent outcome measures.
• Full driving licence.
• Accredited member of BACP or equivalent.
• Fluent in Welsh
• Knowledge of training industry

Responsibilities

• Undertake counselling sessions one-to-one or in groups.
• Develop external partnerships to share best practice and signpost clients.
• Facilitate workshops to promote wellbeing for learners.
• Counselling sessions face to face or remotely via telephone or digital platforms.
• Agree counselling contracts with learners to determine session content.
• Establish trusting and respectful relationships with learners.
• Work with external organisations for referrals, signposting, and talks/workshops.
• Designated Safeguarding Officer responsibilities and duties.
• Record and maintain records, meetings and other documents in line with data protection and confidentiality.
• Provide guidance, support and advice to learners and staff.
