Job summary

Thorn Baker Facilities Management is seeking an experienced Area Cleaning Manager to oversee a portfolio of 20 sites across the South West, from Bristol to Cornwall. You will manage daily performance, client relationships and multi-site teams across retail and commercial environments.

The role emphasizes leading teams, driving standards, and delivering consistent service quality while navigating health and safety requirements and contract SLAs.

Qualifications

• Experience managing multiple cleaning contracts across retail and commercial environments.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Excellent client relationship management experience.
• Good understanding of KPIs, SLAs and operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the performance of 20 cleaning contracts across 20 sites.
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships across Bristol, Devon and Cornwall.
• Lead, motivate and develop cleaning teams and supervisors.
• Carry out regular site visits, audits and quality inspections.
• Ensure SLAs and KPIs are consistently achieved.
• Manage recruitment, training, labour budgets and operational performance.
• Monitor standards across retail and commercial locations.
• Ensure Health & Safety and company procedures are followed.
• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and client satisfaction.
• Support contract mobilisation and continuous service improvements.
