Job summary

GXO Logistics is hiring a Driver to perform multi-drop home deliveries from Gillingham to Ashford, averaging 16 stops daily and up to 24 during peak times.

You will maintain accurate records, operate company vehicles safely, and ensure correct delivery documentation is provided to customers. A two-week rotating shift and DBS check are part of the role, with salary reflecting Class 2 driver rates.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to undertake pre-employment DBS check.
• Full UK driving licence with category C entitlement, CPC and Digital Tachograph.

Responsibilities

• Provide multi-drop home deliveries averaging 16 per day (up to 24 in peak).
• Maintain accurate driving/working time records per WTD regulations using Tachomaster/system and manual entries.
• Operate GXO vehicles safely, legally, and efficiently.
• Check off products on vehicle and ensure customers receive correct deliveries and documents.
• Keep customers informed of ETA and communicate issues politely.
• Be prepared to commute between Gillingham and Ashford stores.
• Follow a two-week rotating shift pattern, 40 hrs per week, start time 07:00–11:00.

Job description

• Providing multi-drop home deliveries directly to the customer's chosen room, averaging 16 deliveries per day in quieter months and up to 24 during peak season
• Maintain accurate driving/working time records using the Tachomaster system and manual entries to record all working hours as required by the WTD regulations
• Operate company vehicles in a safe, legal, and efficient manner
• Ensure all products are checked off the vehicle and the customer receive the correct products and delivery documentation
• Keep customers informed of their estimated time of delivery and where issues occur communicate with in a polite and courteous manner
• A full UK driving licence with category C Entitlement with an up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph
• No more than 6 penalty points on your licence (no DD, DR, DG, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT endorsements)
• A valid HIAB licence with brick grab ticket (ALLMI or equivalent), where held
• Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal
• Willingness to undertake pre-employment Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS Check)
• Be prepared to commute between Gillingham and Ashford stores

• You'll be working on a full-time, permanent basis, following a two-week rotating shift pattern: Week 1 - Monday to Friday/ Week 2 - Tuesday to Saturday, with start time between 07:00 and 11:00, contracted to 40hrs per week.

Pay Rates

• Class 2 Driver
  • An hourly rate of £17.62, that is an annual salary of £36,649.60
  • Overtime pay of £26.43 per hour (when applicable, paid over 40hrs)
• Class 2 Driver (HIAB Qualified)
  • An hourly rate of £17.70 that is an annual salary of £36,816.00
  • Overtime pay of £26.55 per hour (when applicable, paid over 40hrs)
