Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Class 2 Driver for a full-time role covering Reading, Farnborough and Swindon stores. The position involves completing multi-drop home deliveries and maintaining accurate tachograph records.

Hardware qualifications include a valid Class 2 licence (Cat C), up-to-date CPC, Digital Tachograph and, where applicable, HIAB. The role operates on a two-week rotating shift pattern and requires excellent customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to undertake pre-employment DBS check.
• Able to commute between Reading, Farnborough and Swindon stores.
• Up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph.
• No more than 6 penalty points; no restricted endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Provide multi-drop home deliveries directly to customers, averaging 16 deliveries per day in quieter months and up to 24 in peak season.
• Maintain accurate driving and working time records using Tachomaster and manual entries per WTD regulations.
• Operate company vehicles safely, legally and efficiently.
• Ensure products are checked off the vehicle and delivery documentation is provided to customers.
• Keep customers informed of ETA and communicate any issues politely and clearly.

Job description

• Providing multi-drop home deliveries directly to the customer's chosen room, averaging 16 deliveries per day in quieter months and up to 24 during peak season
• Maintain accurate driving/working time records using the Tachomaster system and manual entries to record all working hours as required by the WTD regulations
• Operate company vehicles in a safe, legal, and efficient manner
• Ensure all products are checked off the vehicle and the customer receive the correct products and delivery documentation
• Keep customers informed of their estimated time of delivery and where issues occur communicate with in a polite and courteous manner
• Are you looking for a role where your Class 2 (Cat C) driving experience really matters? Do you enjoy brightening customers' days by delivering their much-loved products to their homes? Are you happy being out on the road and take pride in delivering excellent customer care?, Previous experience in multidrop, store deliveries preferable but not essential
• A full UK driving licence with category C Entitlement with an up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph
• No more than 6 penalty points on your licence (no DD, DR, DG, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT endorsements)
• A valid HIAB licence with brick grab ticket (ALLMI or equivalent), where held
• Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal
• Willingness to undertake pre‑employment Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS Check)
• Be prepared to commute between Reading, Farnborough and Swindon stores

• You’ll be working on a full‑time, permanent basis, following a two‑week rotating shift pattern: Week 1 - Monday to Friday/ Week 2 - Tuesday to Saturday, with start time between 07:00 and 11:00, contracted to 40hrs per week.

As a Driver, you'll receive a competitive pay and benefits package, depending on the licence held: Pay Rates: Class 2 Driver

Class 2 Driver

• An hourly rate of £19.12, that is an annual salary of £39,769.60
• Overtime pay of £28.68 per hour (when applicable, paid over 40hrs)

Class 2 Driver (HIAB Qualified)

• An hourly rate of £20.15, that is an annual salary of £41,912.00
• Overtime pay of £30.23 per hour (when applicable, paid over 40hrs)
