Job Description:

Since 1980, SSQ has been dedicated to providing natural slate solutions to the roofing industry. We have formed exclusive long-term partnerships with top slate quarries in Spain and opened our own manufacturing facility in Argentina, offering premium quality slate worldwide.

We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Regional Business Manager for our Eastern territory.

Overall Purpose of Role
  • Manage commercial trade aspects within the designated geographic territory.
  • Promote the company's products, achieve sales and margin targets.
  • Maintain the company's reputation through professional conduct.
  • Manage existing customer accounts with strategic stakeholder management.
  • Identify new trading opportunities to generate new business.
  • Develop relationships with roofing contractors, architects, surveyors, main contractors, local authorities, housing associations, and developers, respecting existing relationships.
  • Identify new build and refurbishment project opportunities and secure specifications for SSQ products.
  • Expand the project pipeline, monitor planning and tender stages, and ensure SSQ specifications are maintained.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the supply chain to build confidence in SSQ products, providing advice and support during various project stages.
Candidate Profile
  • Commercially competent with strong negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of pitched roofing preferred; natural slate experience advantageous.
  • Experience with supply chains related to roofing materials.
  • Experience in specification sales, with a strong network of architectural and surveying contacts.
  • Understanding of British and European standards and legislation.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and build cycle.
  • Exceptional sales, professionalism, problem-solving, and solution-selling skills.
  • Training delivery experience is a plus.
