Job summary

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is recruiting a Planning Regeneration Officer on a fixed-term 2-year contract to work on challenging major projects within our £3bn Regeneration Pipeline.

You will operate within the Planning Regeneration Team, collaborating with internal and external partners to deliver outcomes, identify funding sources, prepare development briefs, and support viability studies and masterplans for regeneration schemes.

Qualifications

• Degree-level education in Planning/Regeneration or related field.
• Working towards RTPI membership is desirable.
• Knowledge of national, regional and local regeneration strategies and local area context.

Responsibilities

• Support or lead regeneration schemes delivering economic, social and environmental benefits for Sandwell communities.
• Contribute to creating high-quality places meeting community needs.
• Contribute to masterplans and strategies enabling comprehensive regeneration.
• Identify funding sources and prepare funding applications, including collating supporting information.
