Job summary

Sandwell Council is seeking a detail‑oriented Sandwell Plan Project Manager to lead the Regeneration and Growth programme from its Oldbury office. The role is full‑time and fixed for 30 months with a possible 6‑month extension, with a hybrid pattern of three days in the office and two days from home.

You will drive governance, budgets and reporting to senior stakeholders, and work with Members and external partners to deliver a high‑profile strategic programme.

Qualifications

• Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute is preferred.
• Relevant proven experience of managing the delivery of projects.
• Experience of managing budgets.
• Experience of working with Members.
• Knowledge of the planning system as it relates to the adoption of planning policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the delivery of the Sandwell Plan and manage governance.
• Oversee budgets, resources and risk management.
• Prepare reports for decision‑making and senior stakeholders.
• Engage with elected members, government departments and strategic partners.
• Commission and manage consultants and evidence base for the Plan.
