Job summary

Sandwell Council is recruiting a Planning Regeneration Officer on a fixed-term basis for two years. Working within the Planning Regeneration Team, you will help drive major regeneration projects within our £3bn pipeline and coordinate with internal and external partners.

The role involves identifying funding sources, preparing development briefs, carrying out viability studies and contributing to masterplans and strategies to deliver high quality places for Sandwell’s communities.

Qualifications

• Educated to Degree Level, preferably in Planning and/or Regeneration.
• Working towards either student, licentiate or full membership of the RTPI.
• Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Support or lead the development of regeneration schemes which deliver economic, social and environmental benefits for the communities of Sandwell.
• Contributing towards the creation of high quality places which meet the needs of Sandwell’s communities.
• Contribute towards the production of masterplans and strategies to enable comprehensive regeneration.
• Identify and lead the necessary arrangements for viability studies, market assessments, land/property ownership, and valuations to be undertaken to determine scheme viability and development options.
• Identify funding sources and prepare funding applications to enable sites or deliver regeneration schemes, including the collation of relevant supporting information.
