Job summary

FCWA is seeking a part-time Support Worker in Lancashire to provide practical and emotional support to residents in a refuge. You will work as part of a dedicated team to assist women and children toward independent lives free from harm.

The role requires evenings and weekends, with a rota for out-of-hours 1 in 4. An enhanced DBS clearance is mandatory, plus participation in ongoing training and development.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS disclosure and clearance required.
• Ability to provide proactive practical and emotional support to residents.

• Provide proactive practical and emotional support to victims and survivors of domestic abuse within a refuge.
• Work as part of a dedicated team to support women and children to achieve independent lives free from harm.
• Encourage residents to engage in wellbeing activities and community participation.

Job description

£13.39 per hour

Hours of work:

16 hours per week, evenings and weekends. This also includes (1 week in 4) rota out of hours on call.

25 days per annum plus 8 public holidays.
Thereafter, you will receive one additional day for each year of continuous service, up to a maximum of 30 days.

The Support Worker's role includes providing proactive practical and emotional support to victims and survivors of domestic abuse. You will work as a member of our dedicated team providing regular support to women and children within a refuge environment. To do this you will engage in a supportive and empathic manner working sensitively with residents, helping them to achieve independent lives free from harm and abuse.

This role supports refuge and residents in a communal setting. You will encourage residents to engage in support and wellbeing activities that can help to reduce isolation and encourage residents to feel part of the refuge community
