Job summary

MDWA is seeking passionate Women’s Support Workers to join our Motherwell team on a full-time basis. You will deliver one-to-one support in our office, refuge and in the community, helping women and children affected by domestic abuse.

The role requires a recognised qualification in Health and Social Care and adherence to safeguarding and PVG requirements. Applicants must hold a full driving licence with access to a car.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one support in the office, refuge and in the community across Motherwell district.
• Support women and children affected by domestic abuse with practical and emotional help.
• Carry out duties as directed by Management Team within the PVG safeguarding framework.

Job description

Location: MDWA Office, Unit 1a Flemington Court, Craignuek Street, Flemington Industrial Estate, Motherwell, ML1 2NT and, Refuge and the Motherwell District community.

Hours: Full Time, 35 hours per week

Contract: Permanent [subject to funding]

In this role, you will deliver impactful one-to-one support in our office, refuge and in the community throughout Motherwell district.

This job description cannot cover every issue or task that may arise within the scope of the post. The post-holder will be expected to carry out other duties from time to time which are broadly consistent with the duties as detailed above.

The post holder will be required to register with SSSC and adhere to the SSSC code of conduct.

To carry out any other duties and responsibilities which may be reasonably determined by the Management Team and/or Board of Directors. The above post is subject to a successful application to the PVG scheme

membership to carry out regulated work with adults and children.

It is essential to hold a full driving licence and have access to a car. Business Insurance is essential and is at your own expense.
