AWD Online is recruiting a Weekend Support Worker to assist women with complex needs in a refuge and community setting. The role emphasizes trauma-informed, person-centred support, welfare checks and confidential record-keeping in a weekend pattern.

The post requires compassion, resilience and the ability to work within safeguarding and boundaries. The role is open to women only and offers an annual salary of £17,304 plus benefits.

Qualifications

• This role is open to women only.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Compassionate, empathetic and resilient, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Professional approach with appropriate boundaries and sensitivity when handling confidential information.
• Organised and able to maintain accurate records.
• Able to work the stated weekend pattern and bank holidays where required.

Responsibilities

• Resident Support and Relationships: Build positive professional relationships, provide practical and emotional support and encourage independence and confidence.
• Activities and Life Skills: Deliver daily living skills, wellbeing, leisure, creative and therapeutic activities.
• Resident Induction: Welcome and induct new residents into the service.
• Safety and Welfare Checks: Promote a safe, supportive environment and complete regular welfare and building checks.
• Records and Confidentiality: Record important information accurately and maintain confidential records.
• Crisis and Behaviour Support: Respond calmly to challenging situations and provide appropriate support.
• Partnership Working: Work with criminal justice and support agencies to help residents achieve positive outcomes.
• Emergency Responsibilities: Act as Fire Warden and First Aider when required.
