Job summary

Solutions Engineering Recruitment is recruiting a Refrigeration HVAC Project Engineer for Essex, offering hybrid working with site travel and a salary of £50,000 - £65,000 plus benefits and a company car or car allowance.

You will take ownership of the technical aspects of live industrial refrigeration projects across the UK, working with design, project, site and commissioning teams to ensure delivery to high standards.

Qualifications

• Strong background in industrial refrigeration and/or heavy HVAC.
• Experience on technically complex engineering projects.
• Knowledge of ammonia NH3 and/or CO2 refrigerants advantageous.
• Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Confident with clients, engineers, contractors, and suppliers.
• Experience in food manufacturing, cold storage, or process environments beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of projects throughout delivery.
• Act as key technical contact for project and site teams.
• Review designs, drawings and technical specifications.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers, contractors and subcontractors.
• Review equipment selections and ensure correct installation.
• Attend project sites and technical meetings.
• Support testing, commissioning, snagging and handover.
• Ensure projects meet technical, quality and safety standards.

An established industrial refrigeration and HVAC specialist is looking to recruit an experienced Project Engineer to provide technical support and engineering expertise across industrial refrigeration projects throughout the UK.

In this project engineer role you will take ownership of the technical aspects of live projects, acting as a key point of contact when engineering challenges arise and working closely with design, project, site and commissioning teams.

The Role

• Take technical ownership of industrial refrigeration projects throughout delivery
• Act as a key technical point of contact for project and site teams
• Review refrigeration designs, drawings and technical specifications
• Provide technical guidance to engineers, contractors and subcontractors
• Review equipment selections and ensure systems are installed in line with the design
• Attend project sites and technical meetings as required
• Support testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover
• Ensure projects meet the required technical, quality and safety standards

The Candidate

• Strong technical background within industrial refrigeration and/or heavy commercial/industrial HVAC
• Experience working on technically complex engineering projects
• Knowledge of ammonia (NH3) and/or CO₂ refrigeration would be highly advantageous
• Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong fault-finding and technical problem-solving ability
• Confident working with clients, engineers, contractors and suppliers
• Experience within food manufacturing, production, cold storage, distribution or process environments would be beneficial
