Job summary

Pioneer Selection is seeking a Refrigeration Engineer in Southall, London for a days-based role. You will maintain and repair a range of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems to ensure reliability and minimal downtime across the site.

You will carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, fault-finding and repairs, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. F-Gas Cat 1 certification and NVQ 3 / City & Guilds in refrigeration are required.

Qualifications

• F‑Gas Category 1 certification is required.
• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds refrigeration qualification is required.
• Hands-on experience with planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on refrigeration plant and equipment.
• Perform reactive maintenance and fault-finding on refrigeration systems.
• Carry out repairs to refrigeration plant and associated equipment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to maximise site performance.

Refrigeration Engineer

Location: Southall, London

Salary: Up to £55,000

Shift: Days

Working in a days‑based role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems, ensuring maximum reliability and minimal downtime across the site.

You will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, fault‑finding, and repairs on refrigeration plant and associated equipment, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise site performance.

Non‑Negotiable Requirements

• F‑Gas Category 1 certification
• Refrigeration maintenance experience within a commercial or industrial environment
• Hands‑on experience with planned, reactive, and breakdown maintenance
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills on refrigeration systems
• Recognised Refrigeration or Air Conditioning qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
• Experience maintaining refrigeration plant, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and associated equipment

Desirable Requirements

• Experience working as a Refrigeration Engineer in the UK
• Experience with ammonia, CO₂, or other industrial refrigeration systems
• Electrical fault‑finding experience would be advantageous
