Job summary

Omega is seeking an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to service and repair refrigeration equipment on customer sites, including supermarkets. You will maintain, service and repair refrigeration systems and assist with HVAC units containing refrigeration circuits.

Responsibilities include prioritising maintenance to agreed timescales, completing PPM schedules and paperwork, ordering parts, reporting issues to the GSMs, and carrying out surveys and reports as required.

Qualifications

• Time served refrigeration apprenticeship is required.
• NVQ/C&G refrigeration qualification or equivalent.
• Approved refrigeration training programs must be completed.
• Refrigerant handling certification (C&G 2079 or equivalent).
• Must hold a valid full driving license and be able to travel.

Responsibilities

• Prioritise maintenance and repair to meet timescales and response times.
• Identify non-repairable faults and advise on replacements.
• Ensure PPM schedules and paperwork are completed accurately.
• Complete technical and compliance paperwork and records.
• Order and fit parts as prescribed by procedures.
• Inform GSMs of issues affecting store operations and promote partnership.
• Carry out surveys and prepare reports as required by supervision.

Job description

My client is on the lookout for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join the team. You will have the opportunity to work on one of their leading supermarket contracts.

The role will involve maintaining, servicing and repairing Refrigeration Equipment in customer locations and provide assistance to HVAC equipment containing refrigeration circuits.

• Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
• Identify non-repairable faults promptly advise the Line manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacements.
• To ensure PPM schedules are completed within agreed timescales and that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid-down procedures.
• Ensure that all technical and compliance paperwork is always completed and up to date.
• To order and fit parts or components as prescribed by company procedures.
• To advise the GSMs of any repair, maintenance and installation issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the store and to build rapport and promote the spirit of partnership with all GSM’s.
• To carry out surveys and complete reports as required by the refrigeration supervisor/ RFM.

• Flexible to be part of the 24/7 on-call rota every 1:4 weeks.

• 25 days + 8 bank holidays
• Travel time after ½ hour each way
