Job summary

A leading engineering recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to maintain and repair refrigeration equipment in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with maintenance schedules and addressing faults promptly. Ideal candidates will hold NVQ/C&G Refrigeration qualifications, handle refrigerants, and possess a full driving license. This role involves a rotation on-call every 1:4 weeks and offers a competitive salary of £51,027.59, including standby.

Qualifications

• Must hold NVQ/C&G Refrigeration qualification.
• Experience in maintenance and repair of refrigeration equipment is essential.
• Flexible to join the on-call rota every 1:4 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair refrigeration equipment at customer sites.
• Complete PPM schedules and ensure compliance paperwork is up to date.
• Identify non-repairable faults and recommend replacements.

Skills

Refrigerant Handling C&G 2079 or equivalent CITB certificate

Ability to read technical drawings

Experience using a PDA system

Flexibility for 24/7 on-call rota

Full driving license

£51,027.59 (salary including on call standby 1:4)

My client is on the lookout for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join the team. You will have the opportunity to work on one of their leading supermarket contracts.

The role will involve maintaining, servicing and repairing Refrigeration Equipment in customer locations and provide assistance to HVAC equipment containing refrigeration circuits.

• Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
• Identify non-repairable faults promptly advise the Line manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacements.
• To ensure PPM schedules are completed within agreed timescales and that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid-down procedures.
• Ensure that all technical and compliance paperwork is always completed and up to date.
• To order and fit parts or components as prescribed by company procedures.
• To advise the GSMs of any repair, maintenance and installation issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the store and to build rapport and promote the spirit of partnership with all GSM’s.
• To carry out surveys and complete reports as required by the refrigeration supervisor/ RFM.
