Job summary

Smart Search Technical Ltd is seeking a skilled refrigeration engineer to maintain and repair customer sites across Teesside / North Yorkshire. You will diagnose faults, perform planned and reactive maintenance, and assist with installation work to keep equipment running reliably.

The role requires strong refrigeration engineering experience (retail ideal), F-Gas 2079, hydrocarbon qualifications, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Strong refrigeration engineering experience, ideally within retail.
• C&G 2079 F-Gas qualification.
• Hydrocarbon experience/qualification.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Good fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
• Good customer communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently across multiple customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Planned preventative and reactive refrigeration and AC maintenance.
• Fault finding, diagnosis and repairs.
• Some refrigeration and AC installation work.
• Completing PPM work within agreed timescales.
• Supporting first-time fix and equipment uptime.
• Working safely and maintaining high standards on customer sites.
• Completing service reports and escalating issues where required.

The Role
