KA Leisure in Irvine is seeking a part-time cafe assistant to join The Portal cafe. Earn £13.52 per hour under the Living Wage Initiative for 24 hours per week at 66 High Street, Irvine. Role includes preparing food and drinks, serving customers, and maintaining cafe cleanliness and safety.

Open/close the cafe, handle cash, and fulfill PVG-related requirements as needed. Some roles may require PVG scheme membership updates and associated costs.

Rate of Pay: £13.52 per hour (K:A Leisure provides workers with a minimum hourly rate of £13.52 under the Living Wage Initiative. Term and Conditions apply)
Hours: Part-time - 24 hours per week
Location: The Portal, 66 High Street, Irvine, KA12 0AZ

Role Summary:
To undertake a variety of tasks which may include the cleaning of designated areas and assisting in the provision of a quality catering service. Also responsible for ensuring they are prepared for customers before and during cafe opening hours and maintaining the cafe to the required standards of cleanliness and safety.
To undertake any other reasonably required duties as instructed by Management or someone acting on their behalf, in addition to the role specific tasks & responsibilities detailed below.

Role Specific Tasks

• Catering environment duties will include:
• Opening and closing the cafe
• Preparing and serving food and beverages whilst operating within Food Safety and Nutrition guidelines
• General catering and specific cleaning duties
• Cash handling/till operation.

Please note: Successful candidates will meet the cost of the relevant PVG check (£59 for scheme membership and £18 for scheme member update); this will be deducted from wages following commencement of employment with the Company
