Job summary

BH Live Active at Pelhams in Bournemouth is seeking a Recreation Assistant to join the team. You will work poolside, help keep customers safe, and provide friendly service in a busy community hub with pools, classes, and wellness activities.

You must hold an NPLQ qualification, be DBS checked, and be flexible to work weekends, evenings and bank holidays. This permanent role offers 37 hours per week and benefits including parking, a pension and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• NPLQ qualification is required.
• Satisfactory Enhanced DBS Clearance.
• Be a confident swimmer.
• Keep calm under pressure and have good initiative.
• Ability to concentrate whilst working poolside.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Able to work hours aligned to centre opening times, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Erect, dismantle and move equipment.

Salary: £24,522 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

The role:

BH Live is recruiting for an NPLQ qualified Recreation Assistant to join our Recreation team at BH Live Active, Pelhams. A vibrant community hub, the team at Pelhams works closely with the local community and health groups to provide fitness and social activities for all. Swimming facilities include two pools with lane swimming, public swim sessions, pool-based classes, fun for young people, lessons and more. There is also a sauna for post-workout relaxation.

You will:

• Work poolside and be the main point of contact for our customers.
• Ensure our customers are kept safe and comply with the centre rules.
• Erect, dismantle and move equipment.
• Clean the centre and equipment.
• Be vigilant and supervise people who are using the pool and centre facilities.

To be successful you will need:

• A valid NPLQ qualification.
• Satisfactory Enhanced DBS Clearance.
• Be a confident swimmer.
• To keep calm under pressure and have good initiative.
• The ability to concentrate whilst working poolside.
