Job summary

BH Live is recruiting a Recreation Assistant for BH Live Active, Pelhams in Bournemouth. You will be poolside, ensure safety and deliver activities across two pools and related facilities, including classes and swim sessions.

The role requires an NPLQ qualification and Enhanced DBS clearance, with 37 hours per week including weekends and evenings, contributing to a busy community hub with great benefits.

Qualifications

• Be a confident swimmer with poolside focus.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

Post Title: Recreation Assistant

Site Location: BH Live Active – Pelhams, Bournemouth

Salary: £24,522 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

The role:

BH Live is recruiting for an NPLQ qualified Recreation Assistant to join our Recreation team at BH Live Active, Pelhams. A vibrant community hub, the team at Pelhams works closely with the local community and health groups to provide fitness and social activities for all. Swimming facilities include two pools with lane swimming, public swim sessions, pool-based classes, fun for young people, lessons and more. There is also a sauna for post-workout relaxation.

You will:

• Work poolside and be the main point of contact for our customers.
• Ensure our customers are kept safe and comply with the centre rules.
• Erect, dismantle and move equipment.
• Clean the centre and equipment.
• Be vigilant and supervise people who are using the pool and centre facilities.

To be successful you will need:

• A valid NPLQ qualification.
• Satisfactory Enhanced DBS Clearance.
• Be a confident swimmer.
• To keep calm under pressure and have good initiative.
• The ability to concentrate whilst working poolside.
• Great customer service skills.
• To be available to work hours aligned to the centres opening hours, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
