BH Live is recruiting a Recreation Assistant for Littledown Leisure Centre. You will work 34.5 hours per week on a rota, primarily poolside, serving as the main customer contact and ensuring safety and compliance with centre rules.

The role requires an NPLQ qualification, DBS clearance, and confident swimming ability. The position offers development opportunities and a range of staff benefits.

Site Location BH Live Active - Littledown Centre - Bournemouth

Salary: £22,865.11 per annum

FTE Salary: £24,522 per annum

Hours: 34.5 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

The role:

BH Live is recruiting for a Recreation Assistant to join our Recreation Team at BH Live Active Littledown, you will work 34.5 hours per week on a rota basis aligned to the centres opening hours.

Littledown is ranked among the top performing leisure centres in the UK, is accredited by quality scheme QUEST and is a National Fitness Award winner for the Local Authority/Leisure Trust Gym of the Year and finalist for the Best Group Exercise Gym of the Year.

It has more than 1.2 million attendances a year and is home to clubs including BH Live’s Swimming Academy and Swim Bournemouth, facilities include 25-metre and 17-metre swimming pools for lane swimming, public swimming sessions, pool-based classes and lessons. There is also a splash pool, steam room and sauna.

You will:

• Work poolside and be the main point of contact for our customers.

• Be vigilant and supervise people who are using the pool and centre facilities.

You will need:

• Your NPLQ qualification
• Satisfactory enhanced DBS clearance

• To keep calm under pressure and have good initiative
• The ability to concentrate whilst working poolside
• Great customer service skills
