Job summary

BH Live is recruiting NPLQ qualified Lifeguards for The Quays Swimming & Diving Complex in Southampton. Roles available full-time and part-time; candidates should indicate preference on application. The Quays is a High Performance Centre with 10m/18m pools and a separate 25m main pool, with water features and slides.

All applicants must hold a valid NPLQ certificate and be able to dive to 5 metres. You will work poolside, ensure safety, supervise users, and maintain facilities.

Qualifications

• NPLQ qualification required.
• Able to dive to at least 5 metres.
• DBS clearance required.
• Confident swimmer.
• Keep calm under pressure and show initiative.
• Concentrate while working poolside.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Availability for hours aligned to centre opening hours, including weekends/evenings/bank holidays.
• Willing to work at other local sites.

Responsibilities

Post Title: Lifeguard

Sites: BH Live Active - The Quays Swimming & Diving Complex

Geographical Location: Southampton

Salary: Up to £26,510 per annum, pro rota for part time

Hours: Up to 40 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

The role:

BH Live is recruiting for NPLQ qualified Lifeguards to join our team at The Quays Swimming and Diving Centre. We have recruiting for full and part time Lifeguards, please indicate on your application form your preference.

The Quays Swimming & Diving Complex is one of only four High Performance Centres for diving in the UK, There is a 10m diving board with an 18m diving pool, with public swim sessions and swimming lessons taking place in a separate 25m main pool. Waterslides offer splashing fun for families and individuals, feeding into a separate lagoon pool complete with interactive water features.

All candidates need a valid NPLQ certificate and be able to dive down to at least 5 Metres.

You will:

• Work poolside and be the main point of contact for our customers.
• Ensure our customers are kept safe and comply with the centre rules.
• Erect, dismantle and move equipment.
• Clean the centre and equipment.
• Be vigilant and supervise people who are using the pool and centre facilities.

To be successful you will need:

• A valid NPLQ qualification.
• Be able to dive down to at least 5 Metres.
• Satisfactory DBS Clearance.
• Be a confident swimmer.
• To keep calm under pressure and have good initiative.
• The ability to concentrate whilst working poolside.
• Great customer service skills.
• To be available to work hours aligned to the centres opening hours, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
• Be wiling to work at other local sites.
