Job summary

Waythrough is seeking a Recovery Worker for our Redcar and Cleveland Supported Housing service. You will provide person-centred support to adults with mental health challenges, helping them build skills, manage tenancy and progress toward greater independence.

This permanent, part-time role is 22 hours per week on a rota basis, including sleepovers, weekends and on-call duties. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for development within a supportive charity.

• Able to build trusting relationships and support independence.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals experiencing mental health difficulties, promoting recovery, wellbeing and independence through person-centred support.
• Build trusting and supportive relationships, encouraging individuals to identify and work towards their personal goals.
• Support people to develop and maintain their tenancy, including budgeting, managing finances and accessing relevant services.
• Help individuals develop daily living skills, including shopping, laundry, maintaining their home and managing everyday responsibilities.
• Encourage people to develop coping strategies and a better understanding of their mental health and wellbeing.
• Promote social inclusion by supporting access to community groups, meaningful activities, education, volunteering and employment opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with individuals, colleagues and external professionals to ensure support is coordinated and responsive to changing needs.
• Support individuals to explore move-on accommodation and take steps towards greater independence.
• Maintain accurate records, contribute to support planning and follow organisational policies and procedures.
• Participate in the rota, including sleepovers, weekend working and on-call duties, helping to ensure appropriate support is available when needed.
