About Turning Point

About Beacon Lodge

Beacon Lodge is a mental health step-down unit that supports individuals transitioning from acute mental health wards back into the community. Passionate about people, you’ll support individuals to gain skills for independent living. You’ll work flexibly to manage a small caseload and assist with the day-to-day running of the service, with an emphasis on key working.

Role Responsibilities
  • Provide recovery-focused support through key working sessions and group work, promoting long-term recovery and independence.
  • Develop tailored support and risk management plans for individuals, ensuring effective discharge planning.
  • Help individuals gain skills and coping strategies, encouraging positive change.
  • Work on a 24-hour rolling rota, including 12-hour day and waking night shifts, with alternate weekends.
The Ideal Candidate

Experience in the mental health sector is preferred. You should understand the recovery model, have a solution-focused attitude, and a person-centred approach. You must be proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Empathy, understanding, and patience are essential qualities.
