Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain seeks a Recovery Worker for its West Cornwall adult community team. The role is 30 hours per week, mainly weekdays with occasional Saturdays, supporting clients toward recovery and building bespoke treatment plans around individual goals.

Applicants should have health, social care or criminal justice experience, ideally with substance misuse, and a driving licence with vehicle access. The post offers a supportive team and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience working or volunteering in health, social care, criminal justice or another specialist setting.
• Track record working or volunteering with people who have experienced substance misuse issues.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to identify goals and build plans around recovery.
• Support clients back onto the path to recovery and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with in-house outreach, hospital, clinical, criminal justice and rehab services.
• Maintain a high-quality service and work as part of a team.
• Flexible with working hours and willing to support other locations when needed.
