Job description

Recovery Practitioner - Havering

We have an exciting opportunity for a Recovery Practitioner to join a substance misuse charity on an initial temporary basis.

This is a rolling contract, where you will be required on-site from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

This role is ideal for someone who has experienced substance misuse issues and is looking to advance their career within an organization that supports personal and professional growth.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist clients at the start of their recovery journey and identify appropriate actions for their recovery process.
2. Minimize the harm caused by drugs and alcohol to clients and the wider community.
3. Act as an advocate for partnership services.
4. Support service users with social reintegration to help them lead meaningful lives, encouraging self-determination, resilience, and recovery.
5. Facilitate group sessions to provide structured information at various recovery stages.

Experience Required:

1. Thorough understanding of substance misuse issues or previous experience in a related field.
2. Strong knowledge of drug and alcohol services, interventions, and best practices.
3. Ability to manage change effectively while prioritizing the interests of service users.
4. Understanding of information governance procedures and commitment to safety protocols.
