Job summary

Change Grow Live is seeking a Recovery Coordinator in Swindon to join the Opiate Team. You will assess and engage service users, ensuring access to appropriate interventions and guiding them through recovery pathways.

The role focuses on screening, planning, referrals and reducing harm, with emphasis on safeguarding, partnership working and empowering service users toward meaningful, independent lives.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of substance misuse issues or experience in a related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with good IT skills.
  • Proactive, able to manage time and priorities effectively.
  • Able to work collaboratively with a wide range of professionals and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to information governance and safeguarding requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support service users from entry through treatment and recovery.
  • Provide screening, assessment, and recovery planning with onward referral.
  • Reduce drug and alcohol harm to service users and the wider community.
  • Promote involvement of carers, service users and community.
  • Provide advocacy for access to partnership services.
  • Demonstrate Motivational Interviewing techniques.
  • Uphold safeguarding for children and adults; liaise with police, probation, courts, prisons.
  • Support social reintegration and promote recovery, resilience and self-determination.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Recovery Coordinator who has the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs.

With this role you'll be working as part of Opiate Team. The team supports people with their or their loved ones' Drug issues.

Where: Swindon

Full Time Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

About the role:

  • Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey
  • Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral
  • Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community
  • Promoting carer, service user and community involvement
  • Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Children's & adult safeguarding
  • Liaison and partnership working including police, probation, courts, prisons.
  • Substance awareness
  • Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination
About you
  • Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and/or experience of working within a similar field
  • Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills
  • Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
  • Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards
  • Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others

Salary Range (pro rata if part time)

CGL points 23 to 28 (£28,557.79 - £32,802.41)
