Job summary

Change Grow Live in Corby is seeking a Recovery Champion to join our team. You will work with service users to initiate, build and utilise recovery capital, helping them move into long-term recovery and engage with the wider recovery community.

You’ll promote visible recovery, support service user involvement, and encourage access to both abstinence-based and medically assisted recovery options, while delivering flexible hours across sites. DBS checked and right to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Lived experience of drug or/and alcohol use.
• Willingness to develop and demonstrate an understanding of safeguarding focusing on children and vulnerable adult’s procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with good IT skills.
• Be able to build relationships with individuals with multiple needs, whilst remaining empathetic and non‑judgemental toward Service Users.
• Confident in working alone as well as part of a team.
• Can remain calm under pressure.
• Able to travel as required, including where public transport is not available.
• Work flexibly across all sites within an agreed number of hours to maintain the most appropriate level of service provision. This will include evening and weekend working.

Responsibilities

• Work with service users initiating, building, and utilising recovery capital to move into long term sustained recovery.
• Promote visible recovery
• Initiate and maintain links with the recovery community and mutual aid
• Provide positive role model support to service users
• Be involved in promoting and ensuring service user involvement across the service
• Engage and re-engage service users into treatment
• Promote healthier lifestyles and increase service user choice
• Promote and support individuals into both abstinence based and medically assisted forms of recovery
• Reduce alcohol and drug related harm to the individual and wider community
• Engage with a comprehensive training programme
• Contribute to the overall performance of the service to ensure that targets are achieved
