Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to extract and understand detailed complex financial information.

Responsibilities


  • Complete the monthly, half-yearly and annual close processes for the Pennon Group companies, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.

  • Responsibility for the quality and integrity of monthly accounting entries to the ledger, including sourcing and documenting supporting information from stakeholders.

  • Controlling the Fixed Asset Register, including transactional entries and regular reconciliation.

  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies as required.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations and internal policies and be able to demonstrate this with evidence (eg internal or external audit).

  • Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information for reporting and analysis.

  • Help to develop and implement best practice processes to ensure the integrity of the general ledger.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the R2R function.

  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance.



Qualifications


  • Extensive experience in accounting, preferably with experience of transactional accounting.

  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities including process improvement.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to extract and understand detailed complex financial information and document this.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.

  • Proficiency in accounting software.
