Job summary

Local Care Direct in Leeds area is recruiting part-time Receptionists to support urgent treatment centres. You will be the first touchpoint for patients, creating a welcoming, calm and professional environment while working closely with clinicians.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, handling queries by phone and in person, keeping reception and waiting areas safe and organised, and liaising with the Local Care Direct team.

  • Liaising closely with other Local Care Direct team members, including clinicians, health professionals and operational staff.
  • Communicating effectively with external stakeholders where required.

Job description

We are currently recruiting Part‑Time Receptionists to work within one of our Urgent Treatment Centres in the Leeds area, playing a key role in supporting patients and ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the centre.

What the Role Offers

This is a varied and people‑focused role where you will be at the heart of the patient experience. As the first point of contact for patients, you will help create a welcoming, calm and professional environment while working closely with clinicians and operational colleagues as part of a wider team.

You will be entrusted with significant responsibility, ensuring reception and waiting areas run smoothly and supporting the delivery of safe, effective and compassionate patient care.

Pay Rates

Rates vary depending on the time of day worked:

  • In‑Hours: £13.21 per hour
    Monday to Friday, 08.00 – 18.00
  • Out of Hours: £14.21 per hour
    Monday to Friday, 18.00 – 08.00 and all day Saturday and Sunday

Please note: our rota operates on a 4‑week rolling basis.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

As a Receptionist, you will be responsible for the smooth day‑to‑day running of the reception and waiting areas, ensuring patients are supported from the moment they arrive.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting clinical and operational processes to enable the delivery of high‑quality patient care

Your role is central to creating a positive patient journey and supporting the effective running of the service.

You will have:

Previous experience in a healthcare or customer‑facing role is desirable, but not essential.
